Dr. Michela Henke Cilenti
Dr. Michela Henke-Cilenti is a behavioral change specialist, executive coach, and keynote speaker. She holds a Doctorate in Management from Webster University, with research focused on strategic behavioral mimicry and its impact on negotiation outcomes.
Dr. Henke-Cilenti was born in the United Kingdom. Her fascination with why people behave the way they do — and the gap between what they are capable of and what they actually do — began at the University of Greenwich, where she studied Sociology with Psychology. That combination gave her an early framework for understanding people not just as individuals, but as products of the systems, cultures, and beliefs they operate within. It is a lens she has never put down.
During her management career across Europe, that fascination sharpened into a professional conviction: underperformance is almost never a skills problem. It is a belief problem. And belief problems respond to a different kind of work entirely.
That insight became the foundation of everything. She spent 25 years developing and testing a behavioral methodology that produces measurable results within 48 hours of a session.
From that body of work emerged her proprietary framework, the Belief Gap: a structured, evidence-based approach to closing the distance between what people know and what they are willing to do.
During her doctoral research, she investigated the mechanisms of strategic behavioral mimicry and its role in building trust and improving negotiation outcomes which is work that continues to inform her frameworks for sales culture, leadership presence, and organizational change.
Dr. Henke-Cilenti is the co-author of Ready for Anything: The Making of a Change Leader, published by Cognella Academic Press. She is an Adjunct Professor at Webster University's School of Management, where she teaches Human Capital Development and Organisational Change Leadership at MBA level. Her academic and applied work converge in the leadership topics she brings to keynote audiences: building cultures that are genuinely ready for change; the psychology of resistance, resilience, and commitment; what it takes to lead people through uncertainty without losing them; and why most change initiatives fail and what the ones that succeed have in common.
Today, Dr. Henke-Cilenti is a sought-after keynote speaker and strategic advisor across luxury hospitality, healthcare, law, and Fortune 100 organisations. She has spoken at ISPA, Marriott's Revenue Maximisation Conference, the Kerstin Florian Annual Sales Convention, Club Industry Chicago, the Regency Beauty National Convention, and the Organisational Development Network — across North America and Europe.
Dr. Henke-Cilenti is based in St. Louis, Missouri.
